Carl Mazzanti to Address Industry 4.0 Risks on NJMEP National Manufacturing Day Panel

Hoboken manufacturing IT consultant is Platinum Sponsor and Featured Panelist at New Jersey gathering commemorating October 4th National Manufacturing Day

eMazzanti Technologies today announced that Carl Mazzanti will be featured on a panel of cyber-security, privacy and business risk experts at the National Manufacturing Day Event organized by the New Jersey Manufacturing Extension Program (NJMEP).

The NJMEP National Manufacturing Day program is scheduled to run from 7:30 am to 3:00 pm on Friday, October 4, 2019 at The Marigold, 315 Churchill Avenue in Somerset, New Jersey.

The annual event brings together manufacturers, students, supporters and industry expert speakers. The proceedings will also include the announcement of NJMEP manufacturing award winners, and sponsors will briefly address the gathering.

Informative breakout sessions will tackle current manufacturing topics, including industry 4.0 risks, workforce problems, blockchain technology and women in manufacturing. The hour-long session featuring Mr. Mazzanti, Understanding the Impact of Industry 4.0 – A Discussion on Avoiding the Risks of Adoption, will be presented at 10:15 am and again at 11:50 am.

Addressing Industry 4.0 Risks

The panel discussion on Industry 4.0 risks will feature experts in cyber-security, including Mazzanti, and business risk. Areas to be addressed by the panel include the impact of industry 4.0 on cyber-security, areas to address to ensure regulatory compliance, how to address privacy challenges and the cost of mitigating cyber risks vs. the cost of ignoring them.

A cyber security breach may cost the manufacturer proprietary information, unique formulations in creating a product faster, identification of product locations, which could be used for stealing product during shipment, loss of control over the market, and more.

National Manufacturing Day and Cyber-security

eMazzanti Technologies partners with NJMEP to help manufacturers of all sizes strengthen manufacturing cyber-security through comprehensive assessment, advanced technology, business continuity planning and breach recovery. Previously, Carl Mazzanti, was the featured speaker at a Manufacturing Cyber-Security Program also organized by the NJMEP. Mazzanti’s topic was, “Secure the Manufacturing Product Line.”

“Manufacturing has recently jumped to number two on the list of industries most vulnerable to cyber-attack,” stated Mazzanti. “As industrial technology advances, manufacturers are increasingly using cloud, data analytics and mobile to improve their connectivity and infrastructure. This means a larger attack surface from which cyber criminals can infiltrate.”

Many small business manufacturers lack the resources to manage cyber-security risks. The shortage of cyber-security professionals and the evolving nature of the risks make effective cyber-security a challenge for organizations of all sizes.
