Digital credentials, such as usernames and passwords, connect you and your employees to critical business applications, as well as online services. Unfortunately, criminals know this — and that’s why digital credentials are among the most valuable assets found on the Dark Web.

Multi-Factor Authentication

 Passwords are
no longer enough

MFA is a method of logon verification that adds a layer of security beyond just a simple username and password. It prevents unauthorized access that can result from lost or stolen passwords, while enabling verified users to easily access their accounts and information.

Cyber Security FAQs

What is cybersecurity awareness training and why do employees need it?

Cybersecurity awareness training is a structured program that educates employees about the threats they are most likely to encounter — phishing emails, social engineering, password security, and risky online behaviors — and teaches them how to recognize and respond correctly. More than 90% of cyberattacks reach organizations through email, and credentials are involved in over 60% of data breaches. This means that even the most technically sophisticated security stack can be bypassed by a single employee who clicks a malicious link or shares a password. Training transforms employees from a vulnerability into an active last line of defense by giving them the knowledge and habits to make better security decisions every day

What is an MFA fatigue attack and how can employees protect against it?

An MFA fatigue attack, also called an MFA push bombing attack, is a social engineering technique in which an attacker who already has a victim's username and password repeatedly sends multi-factor authentication push notifications to the victim's device, hoping they will approve one out of confusion, frustration, or the mistaken belief that they triggered it themselves. Protection involves training employees to never approve an MFA push they did not personally initiate, to immediately report unexpected MFA notifications to IT as a potential sign of a compromised password, and to use number-matching or app-based TOTP codes rather than simple approval push notifications where possible.

What is Business Email Compromise (BEC) and how do you recognize a BEC attack?

Business Email Compromise (BEC) is a type of cyberattack in which criminals impersonate a trusted party — a company executive, a vendor, or a colleague — to deceive an employee into transferring money, sharing credentials, or changing payment details. BEC attacks often do not contain malware or suspicious links, making them harder for technical filters to catch. Recognition clues include unusual urgency, requests to keep the communication confidential, minor variations in the sender's email address (one character off from the real address), unexpected requests for wire transfers or gift cards, and requests that bypass normal approval processes. When in doubt, employees should verify payment or sensitive requests through a separate, known communication channel — a phone call to a known number, not a reply to the suspicious email.

What is ransomware and what should you do if your organization is hit by a ransomware attack?

Ransomware is malware that encrypts files or locks devices and demands payment — typically in cryptocurrency — in exchange for a decryption key. Modern ransomware often also exfiltrates data before encrypting it, threatening to publish it publicly if the ransom is not paid (double extortion). If ransomware is detected, the immediate priority is containment: disconnect infected devices from the network to prevent lateral spread, do not turn off affected systems (to preserve forensic evidence), and notify IT or your managed security provider immediately. Avoid paying the ransom if possible — payment does not guarantee recovery of data, funds criminals, and may make the organization a repeat target. Recovery depends on having tested, clean backups that were isolated from the encrypted environment.

What is the eMazzanti Cybersecurity Awareness Kit and what does it include?

The eMazzanti Cybersecurity Awareness Kit is a free collection of educational resources designed to be delivered to employees in bite-sized chunks, making it practical for organizations to run a structured awareness program without requiring dedicated training software. The kit includes short video modules on multi-factor authentication and MFA fatigue attacks, password management guides, phishing recognition resources including a decision-tree infographic and spotting-warning-signs guide, an explainer on why software updates matter, infographics on BEC attacks and ransomware, ebooks on Wi-Fi security threats, ransomware prevention, unified remote security, and endpoint user protection, and access to recorded workshops from eMazzanti and WatchGuard experts covering EDR, today's threat landscape, security compliance frameworks, and dark web monitoring.

What security services does eMazzanti offer to support a layered cybersecurity strategy?

eMazzanti provides a full stack of cybersecurity services that work together as a layered defense. eCare Network Management handles security patch deployment, antivirus monitoring, and network health. MXINSPECT Email Defense protects against phishing, malware, spam, and email spoofing. Dark Web Monitoring scans the dark web for compromised credentials belonging to the organization. Multi-Factor Authentication prevents unauthorized access from stolen passwords. eCare SOC (Security Operations Center) provides 24/7/365 managed detection and response with human analysts monitoring for threats. eCare Secure Route delivers cloud-based network security and web filtering for devices off the corporate network. Security Awareness Training turns employees into an informed last line of defense. Penetration Testing simulates real attacks to find vulnerabilities before attackers do.

How does eMazzanti's dark web monitoring work and what does it detect?

eMazzanti's dark web monitoring service continuously scans dark web forums, marketplaces, and criminal databases for digital credentials belonging to the organization — email addresses, usernames, and passwords that have been stolen in data breaches or phishing campaigns and listed for sale or trade. When compromised credentials are detected, eMazzanti alerts the organization so affected accounts can be secured before attackers use them. Because most stolen credentials are sold and used within days of a breach — often before the compromised organization is even aware — continuous monitoring provides an early warning system that allows response before damage occurs. The service also includes a preliminary dark web scan that shows existing exposure at the time of onboarding.

What is eMazzanti's approach to building a cybersecurity culture versus just deploying security tools?

eMazzanti's Cybersecurity Awareness Hub reflects the view that technology alone is not sufficient to protect an organization — because attacks consistently target people, not just infrastructure. The layered security approach combines technical controls (email defense, network monitoring, endpoint protection, SOC) with ongoing human education through awareness training, bite-sized resource kits, and workshops delivered by eMazzanti and WatchGuard security experts. The goal is not a one-time training event but a sustained security culture where employees understand their role in protecting the organization and have the practical knowledge to make the right decisions daily. eMazzanti provides both the security technology and the educational resources needed to build this culture, making it practical for organizations that do not have a dedicated internal security awareness program.
