What Does Your Peace of Mind Cost?
Peace of mind is hard to come by, and once you find it, there is a struggle to keep it. So, what does peace of mind cost? That’s a choice we all have to make, but make sure that you are well-informed about the cost before you settle for anything. Intellectual technology, for example, is just one of those things that people struggle with. There are so many different kinds of technology being offered in the world today. How would anybody know what to choose?
When I talk to my customers, one of my first questions is, "What problem can I solve for you today?"
Let’s go through a scenario.
Calvin had to fire his in-house IT guy, Ed, because he was napping on the job, missing calls, and had no follow-through when it came to replying to associates. Ed was making $104,000 a year. Calvin has a description of Ed’s job, but he is not clear on what Ed really did, day to day.
Ed managed 50 desktops, four WatchGuard M series firewalls, eight WatchGuard access points, two servers, one BDR, and 83 Microsoft licenses through a CSP. Among other things, he would troubleshoot desktops and add software when needed.
The last message that Calvin sent to Ed was to add SOC, MFA, monthly dark web scans, and MXINSPECT training via a third party, to ensure that the required security requirements were met.
When Calvin realized that this had not been done, he was furious. Calvin was already a bit anxious and impatient, but he felt like he had given Ed more than enough time to ensure that these services were added — four months, to be exact. "That little weasel," he thought .
Calvin went into search mode online, looking for a reputable IT company. He knew that he wanted to hire someone with years of experience, customer service, and follow-through. TODAY! Up came eMazzanti Technologies.
As he scrolled through the MSP’s website, Calvin remembered the time he fell off his bike and dislocated his shoulder. The muscle relaxer that he was given in the ER was nothing short of mercy for the pain. He felt that same sense of relaxation as he realized that eMazzanti met all his criteria.
Calvin immediately reached out. I answered, "This is Al. How can I solve your problem today?" That was just what Calvin needed to hear. He rattled off his dilemma to me, and I let him talk. After he finished briefing me, Calvin said, "23 years in business, right?" I replied, "Yes, sir."
He interjected, "So can you help me today?"
"I sure can."
"Well, what do you have for me?" he said with a sigh.
