eMazzanti Offers Data Security Assessment to Schools

Schools can improve data security by designating eMazzanti Technologies as Partner of Record and scheduling a security evaluation

microsoft gold partnerHoboken, New Jersey - (Vocus) January 21, 2015 – eMazzanti Technologies, a Hoboken, New Jersey and New York City area IT expert, computer consultant and 2012 Microsoft Partner of the Year, is offering a Data Security Risk Assessment to area schools that make eMazzanti Technologies the Partner of Record on their Office 365 Administration portal.

Eligibility

eMazzanti Technologies will conduct a Data Security Risk Assessment for each K-12 or higher school or district that makes eMazzanti its Partner of Record. Organizations with more than 30 Office 365 seats will be eligible for an on-site evaluation after an initial telephone consultation.

Schools located in the Northeast can simply click this link to designate eMazzanti Technologies as their Partner of Record with no on-going obligation or cost.

By signing in to their Office 365 Admin account, schools will qualify for the assessment. eMazzanti will contact eligible institutions, or they may contact eMazzanti here.

There is no immediate cost or on-going obligation to choosing a Partner of Record, but there are advantages beyond qualifying for the Data Security Risk Assessment.

Additional information on the benefits of choosing eMazzanti as your Partner of Record can be found on eMazzanti’s Cloud Technology Information Center.

What is a Partner of Record?

When organizations purchase Microsoft Online Services like Office 365, they can select a Certified Microsoft Partner to be “tied” or “connected” to their account – in Microsoft terminology this is called a Partner of Record (POR).

In an effort to better service its customers, Microsoft Corporation relies on business partners such as eMazzanti Technologies to provide local support. By encouraging organizations to adopt one of its designated partners as their Partner of Record, Microsoft then knows each will be well supported by certified IT experts.

“If an admin calls Microsoft support for help, one of the first questions asked is: Who is your partner of record?” notes Jennifer Mazzanti, President, eMazzanti Technologies. “If the school does not have one, then Microsoft will encourage them to designate one. As a leading provider of Office 365 support in the Northeast, eMazzanti Technologies is well-qualified to fill that role.”

School Data Security Solutions

Scheduling a Data Security Risk Assessment will help schools evaluate data security services available from eMazzanti Technologies, a 5X WatchGuard Technologies Partner of the Year. WatchGuard is a network security industry leader represented by eMazzanti to education and business customers in the Northeast.

To help schools improve data security, eMazzanti has teamed up with WatchGuard to offer an advanced network security solution. The offering brings together a data security industry leader and one of the top ranked managed services providers worldwide to help schools protect students and solve the data security issues that have plagued other BYOD and one-to-one school technology programs.

One-to-one and BYOD Security Solution

The mass adoption of smart wireless devices like tablets, smartphones and laptops is driving the one-to-one and BYOD initiatives in education. More devices increase the demands on wireless networks. This pressure means it is now more important than ever to have control of the entire network, both wired and wireless, with unified security policies, and simplified management.

A central component of the eMazzanti/WatchGuard network security solution, the WatchGuard Wireless Controller, is a powerful firewall with a complete suite of advanced services. What this means is that schools can extend all of the protections that they have for their wired network, such as website filtering, application control and advanced threat protection to their wireless student environment.

“WatchGuard’s advanced network security will protect schools from hackers, permit students to access only approved websites, and simplify security management for schools,” stated Carl Mazzanti, CEO, eMazzanti Technologies. “A unified design and straightforward management will help districts lower the cost of their technology.”

Why Organizations Need a Microsoft Partner of Record

Assigning a Partner of Record to Microsoft Online Services has absolutely no impact on the monthly subscription cost – it costs nothing. It also has no impact on the support or services provided by Microsoft. Additionally, it does not provide a partner access to the organization’s data.

Selecting the right POR can reduce support response times, reduce TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) and make the transition to the cloud a much smoother process. A Microsoft Partner can provide expertise to help organizations take advantage of all the cloud has to offer.

“By making eMazzanti your Partner of record you will have the confidence of knowing that you will be well supported by Microsoft’s partner of the year,” continued Mazzanti. “eMazzanti provides expert implementation and support services for the entire suite of Microsoft products, including Windows 8, Office 365 and Microsoft Cloud.”
